The Spanish Nook is open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 4pm, and Friday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm. It is closed on Thursday and Sunday.

When is tapas served at The Spanish Nook?

The full evening tapas menu is served on Friday and Saturday evenings only. Monday to Wednesday the cafe closes at 4pm and serves the day menu of Spanish coffee, tostadas, lighter tapas and cakes.

Do you need to book a table at The Spanish Nook?

Walk-ins are welcome during the day. Booking ahead is recommended for Friday and Saturday evenings, when tables go quickly. Tables for up to six people can be booked online at thespanishnook.com/reservations. Larger groups should email thespanishnook@outlook.com.

Yes. Vegan dishes include aceitunas (marinated olives), pan tumaca (tomato bread), patatas bravas and salmorejo. Vegetarian dishes include tortilla, pisto con huevo frito, Manchego cheese tapas and most desserts. All vegan and vegetarian items are marked on the menu.

Does The Spanish Nook serve gluten-free food?

Some menu items do not contain gluten, but gluten is handled in the kitchen so gluten-free cannot be guaranteed. Guests should inform staff of any allergies before ordering and speak to a manager or member of staff to discuss their order.

Traditional Spanish food. The day menu includes Spanish coffee, tostadas with olive oil, Serrano ham or sobrasada, tapas and Spanish cakes such as tarta de Santiago. The evening menu includes croquetas made in-house, montaditos, tortilla, chorizo al vino blanco, pulpo a la Gallega, salpicon de marisco and sharing boards of Spanish charcuterie and Manchego cheese.

Can you buy Spanish products at The Spanish Nook?

Yes. The premises include a small Spanish deli selling olives, olive oils, charcuterie, Manchego cheese, sauces such as mojo picon and salsa brava, and Spanish conservas and sweets to take home. Gift vouchers are also available in 10, 25 and 50 pound denominations.

Yes. Tapas are available to eat in or take away, and coffee is available to go.

Our Story

The Spanish Nook is a Spanish café and tapas bar in Dunfermline. Breakfast the Spanish way: a good Ibérico ham toast with extra virgin olive oil on mollete bread, paired with a cafe con leche. Unbeatable. Later, the full tapas menu — croquetas, montaditos, pulpo a la Gallega, boards of charcuterie and Manchego meant for sharing.

Everything is made the way it’s made in Spain, because that’s where we learned to make it. Come in for a cortado and a slice of tarta de Santiago, or settle in for a long evening with a tabla mixta and good company.
